Rita Ora is a British musician and singer from the UK. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She was raised in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. She auditioned for Eurovision The Country That Needs You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest but then withdrew from the competition after a few weeks because she wasn't sure she was ready. Ora made her debut music in 2007 when she was featured on the song of Craig David titled "Awkward" followed by another appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began singing in bars throughout London, and in 2009 an A&R representative told Roc Nation about Ora, shortly after Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video of "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was attracted to Ora's talent and kindly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was featured in a commercial promoting Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing in the same place where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. The singer cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence in the way she conducts herself, and No Doubt's "Don't Speak" (1996) as one of her top songs.Her video for Tezenis's, The Silk Code, is the title of the novel that was awarded the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel in 1999.She was thought of for the role of Iris West in Justice League (2017) before Kiersey Clemons was cast. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are close friends.
