Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th 1983. She is an American actress, producer, and director. In 1988, she made her film debut with Purple People Eater. For this performance, she was awarded an Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years old". Birch became a household name as an infant as she appeared in films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. Following that, she appeared in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her role as the main character in Homeless to Harvard:The Liz Murray Story. Birch also starred on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also a part of Whisperer Mary and Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch, whose family originally was named Biersch is German-Jewish and Scandinavian. Birch also has French-Canadian, French-Canadian, and Italian roots.  Her name, Thora , is the name that comes from Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor") (which would be her name had she had been a child. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents had roles in adult movies and appeared in Deep Throat. Due to their personal experience working in the entertainment business, they were not keen to promote the actress, but were convinced by Thora's picture to agents through a babysitter who observed her imitation of commercials. Birch was four years old when she got her first major break when her babysitter invited her to audition for a Quaker Oats advertisement.
