Katey Sagal, an actress/singer who is
extremely skilled and versatile in comedy and drama, was a well-known name as

Globes. Peg Bundy's persona was very well-known, and Katey continued her career
as a performer, not just in sitcoms, but also performing roles that were
completely different from the role that brought her to the attention of. In
2008, she played the role in the role of Gemma Teller Morrow (the matriarch of
the Hell's Angels-esque California biker group) on Sons of Anarchy (2008). The
character she played earned her an award in the form of a Golden Globe Award in
2011 for the Best performance by an actress on a Television Series--Drama.
Catherine Louise Sagal is the daughter of Sara Zwilling (director and singer)
and Boris Sagal (film and television director). Los Angeles native, Catherine
Louise Sagal started singing at the age of five. She then trained in voice and
acting at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. She started her
career as a singing waitress during her "salad years" and continued
to sing with "The Group with No Name." After that she was fortunate
enough to be able to connect with Gene Simmons (and his 1970s rock band KISS)
and was able to secure a job. She gained invaluable experience working as a
backup singer for Simmons, Etta Jones, Tanya Tucker, and Olivia Newton-John. In
the role of one of Bette Midler's "Harlettes" she also was a dynamic
performer when she sang live alongside her in Bette's avant-garde stage shows
that were staged from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.
