Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides easy techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top restaurants, studied Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and was a contestant on Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at an early age. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was impossible to learn about, practice or do all the things I did. Chef Burrell who graduated from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy worked for one year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. Through her stay in Italy she learned to be aware of the history and concepts of Italian cuisine and its culture, which has had a profound impact in her standpoint. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador. she is an advocate for youth diabetes awareness. As a keynote speaker and mentor, she travels all over the U.S. to share her love for cooking and professional career. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate being able to communicate with people what is truly important for her.
